Romm — Experts Say Keystone XL Won’t Do Anything For Gas Prices


Even TransCanada, the company building the pipeline, is careful not to claim the project will lower gas prices: “Prices are set on a global level,” writes the company in a fact sheet.

Tom,

We cant ultimately allow foreign monopolists to have this much influence on the price of such a critical resource.

So at these prices it's either come up with a program to make synthetic liquid hydrocarbons via nuclear, or pound the foreign nations of the regions that supply this critical resource into, eventually, a "new deal".

Looks like so far, we are pursuing the latter.

Syria looks like a current disaster zone with not much news coverage. (I can tell how bad it is getting by the frequency of telemarketing calls I get from the Red Cross for blood donations, previous top during Libya).

MENA is being "restructured", this looks like it goes eventually thru at least Iran, not sure about Saudi Arabia...
